Several Healthcare Organizations Customers of Scale Computing HC3
Like Riverwood Healthcare Center, Carepro Health, Paris Community Hospital
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 3, 2019 at 2:16 pmScale Computing, Inc. announced a growing list of healthcare organizations adopting its HC3 platform to helped simplify and modernize IT infrastructure.
The platform provides the flexibility, ease of use, and scalability that organizations like Riverwood Healthcare Center, Carepro Health, and Paris Community Hospital need to create robust and efficient working environments.
Riverwood Healthcare Center has been providing care to residents of Aitkin County in Northern Minnesota for more than 60 years. Officials turned to Scale Computing to help virtualize their operations and fortify their DR efforts with a single vendor. The HC3 solution simplified the center efforts by working across its entire infrastructure and reducing the time IT staff spends managing its infrastructure by nearly 25% with a much smaller footprint.
“HC3 reduced time in implementation, making our response to requests more efficient and thus increasing the satisfaction of our internal clients. Overall maintenance of the HC3 is far more simple than traditional physical servers,” said Shane Worley, server/system support technician, Riverwood Healthcare Center. “It enables us to be more flexible and respond faster to issues. The smaller footprint has helped us with heating and cooling issues. Updates and patching have become less of a chore. And downtimes are becoming a thing of the past.“
Carepro Health provides home medical equipment, wellness, pharmacy, and home care services to residents in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area. Instead of spending resources to maintain its IT infrastructure, it wanted to focus its efforts on delivering superior patient care. They needed a way to improve the availability of their critical workloads, reduce operating costs and the number of vendors needed to keep their operations running.
HC3 improved Carepro Health’s capabilities over 24 VMs with support from a single vendor for a system that is easier to use and is scalable and highly available.
“With Scale Computing, we decreased our hardware failure recovery times on critical workloads from 24 hours to less than 10 minutes,” said Mitchell Vaughan, IT manager, Carepro Health. “That means dramatically reducing the time our IT staff spends managing infrastructure by 10- to 24-percent after deploying HC3.“
Paris Community Hospital, a full-service emergency medical, surgery, and rehabilitation hospital in Illinois implemented HC3 platform to power its VDI environment of more than 500 machines. The hospital’s virtualization, servers, storage, and backup/DR are now all on a single, easy-to-use platform. Before that, it could take up to a week to add a new user to the hospital system. Now it takes less than two hours.
HC3 combines virtualization, servers, storage, and backup/DR into a single solution. All of the components are built together into the solution, including the hypervisor, without the need for third-party components or licensing. Every component is designed as a highly available, self-healing, efficient virtualization infrastructure that is easy to manage locally or remotely.
“Instead of having precious and limited resources tied up managing storage, servers, virtualization, and management from multiple vendors and different silos, HC3 combines them in a comprehensive system and automates overall management,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder, Scale Computing. “IT administrators spend less time managing infrastructure and more time on other strategic projects.“
With no virtualization software to license or external storage to buy, HC3 lowers costs and simplifies the infrastructure needed to keep mission-critical manufacturing applications running.
