This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 21, 2019 at 2:47 pmphoenixNAP, LLC, an IT services provider offering security-focused cloud infrastructure, dedicated servers, co-location, and specialized Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technology solutions, announced a collaboration with Panzura, Inc., in multi-cloud file services and data management.
As VMware partners, the two companies have built the next gen enterprise infrastructure and SaaS solution delivered as a service from phoenixNAP.
Vizion.ai powered by Panzura, delivers file search and elastic search services providing 1-click, security, cost savings and scalability to customers. Leveraging virtualization technologies such as Persistent Memory performance in vSphere 6.7 and the 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Gold platform, the joint solution enables accelerated delivery of enterprise data analytics for applications in the public cloud.
The key technologies include Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory and vSphere Persistent Memory performance, which provide a new level of flexibility for demanding workloads. The increased compute and flash storage capacity and VM level abstraction enable simple deployment and lower TCO.
“Knowing that platform performance and scalability are paramount for modern enterprise, we developed a solution that can handle even the most intensive workloads without compromise,” said William Bell, EVP of products, phoenixNAP. “The infrastructure we have built leverages the power of VMware and Intel to provide a high-performance environment for enterprise applications including ML and AI workloads.“
Incorporating Optane DC Persistent Memory, transformative processing technology, the new class of Intel processors provides support for demanding workloads such as AI, big data, and HPC. Paired with vSphere, which allow for performance and security, the underlying hardware platform provides capabilities for processing business-critical workloads. Some of the workloads that this platform aims to simplify are enterprise databases, in-memory analytics, and content delivery networks.
“The joint solution with Vizion.ai and phoenixNAP combines multi-tenancy and scale-out hyperconverged cloud architecture with the latest enhancements from Intel and VMware for customers. The solution works seamlessly across devices and applications, delivers the optimal performance and responsiveness and provides advanced ML capabilities bringing unparalleled insight to data,” said Jason McKinney, SVP, alliances, Panzura. “We are looking forward to continued work with phoenixNAP to offer the best multi-cloud data services including logs, security, ITOPs, customer 360 view, IOT data services and more.“
“The commitment to innovation that phoenixNAP and Panzura have shown is incredibly valuable for addressing challenges of exponential data volume growth and their management,” said Jim Aluotto, senior director, cloud provider business, Americas region, VMware, Inc. “VMware solutions are architected to allow innovation, and we are glad to see how phoenixNAP and Panzura leverage this potential.“
phoenixNAP is a service provider in the VMware Cloud Provider Program partner. It is also a PCI DSS validated service provider and its facility is SOC Type 1 and SOC Type 2 audited.
