History: All Acquisitions of Veritas

17 before being acquired by Symantec, then 2

Veritas Software was number the one independent storage software company until January 2005, buying 17 firms including Seagate Software for $1.6 billion in 1998. It was acquired by Symantec for $11 billion in January 2005, and, at this time, generated $2.5 billion in revenue for Symantec in FY14. It was very innovative but lost its technological leadership under the umbrella of Symantec. Then it became once more independent under the name of Veritas Technologies and bought 2 small firms.
