HighPoint: RocketStor 6314B, Thunderbolt 3 Hardware RAID

$529, supporting 4 SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs for up to 56TB of storage

HighPoint Technologies, Inc. launches an affordable Thunderbolt 3 hardware RAID solution – the RocketStor 6314B.

Highpoint Rocketstor 6314b

Backed by hardware RAID technology, and featuring four removable, hot-swap drive bays, it supports up to 4 SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs and up to 56TB of storage configured into one or more RAID arrays.

The compact enclosure’s robust Thunderbolt connectivity supports sustained transfer speeds exceeding 1,300MB/s, and is for small form-factor desktops or workstations, and portable computing platforms.

Includes Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter
Each retail kit includes company’s TB3-LADP-TB2 adapter, which enables it to be easily connected to any PC or Mac platform with a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. The adapter ensures a connection between the enclosure and host system, and does so without impacting the transfer bandwidth or disabling the daisy-chain capability.

Works with Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt 3 Compatible
The integrated Thunderbolt 2 ports support both Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt host platforms, while the included Thunderbolt 3 adapter enables the RocketStor 6314B to be used with any Thunderbolt 3 USB-C system.

High-Performance Hardware RAID Architecture
The RocketStor 6314B is for applications that require fast sustained transfer speeds with redundant RAID protection. The built-In Hardware RAID engine and onboard cache enable it to operate independently of the host system. The advantage of this architecture is two-fold: dedicated bandwidth for seamless storage performance, the assurance that system resources can be fully allocated to other important tasks.

Management Suite
HighPoint’s intuitive web-based RAID management interface allows users of any skill level to configure and maintain RAID arrays with a few clicks. Settings and pro-active monitoring functions enable experienced administrators to fine tune each RAID array for maximum performance, enhanced data security, or a balanced workload.

Administrators can schedule routine maintenance and preset corrective actions in the case of a disk failure to keep the RAID configuration running strong and healthy. Firm’s SHI (system health inspector) feature allows administrators to keep tabs on each individual disk, including SMART attributes, temperature readings, and sector monitoring.

The RocketStor 6314B is available from company’s North American retail and distribution partners for $529 MSRP.
