This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 17, 2018 at 2:21 pmCommvault, Systems, Inc. announced the Complete Backup and Recovery as-a-Service (B&RaaS) portfolio.
This portfolio brings organizations of any size the full-featured power of its offering, Complete Backup & Recovery, with convenient, as-a-service packages that are outcome-driven and simplify data protection and management.
The portfolio includes three cloud-based services – Complete B&RaaS, Complete B&RaaS for VMs, and Complete B&RaaS for native cloud applications – providing customers the flexibility to select specific outcomes that best fit their business needs and use cases to drive increased simplicity, ease of use and cost savings. The announcement was made today in Nashville, TN, at Commvault GO 2018, the company’s annual customer conference.
Building on the company’s Endpoint Data Protection as-a-Service, B&RaaS gives customers a ‘point and click’ delivery model, enabling them to reduce technology operating costs on data infrastructure, software, services, training and compliance.
Complete backup and recovery as-a-service
Powered by Complete Backup & Recovery, Complete B&RaaS includes service options for data management and protection of VMs and applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, as well as native cloud applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce. Deployed and managed by the company on a world-spanning cloud datacenter architecture, customers gain a back-end infrastructure for data protection and management, automatically configured and grown, on-demand. Everything a customer needs to be up and running quickly is included with Complete Backup and Recovery as-a-Service, including system administration, remote managed services and professional services. For customers with demanding RTOs, the service also provides for Hyperscale hardware as required, deployed on customer premises. This allows for fast recoveries from local copies as well as the ability to leverage features such as the firm’s IntelliSnap.
Complete B&RaaS meets the ongoing shift towards outcome-based services, which is forecasted to reach $160 billion in worldwide spending in 2018, an increase of 23.2% over 2017, according to IDC. This growth is fueled in part by the increasing demands on organizations to respond faster to capacity or capability needs while addressing changing regulatory compliance requirements.
Benefits include:
-
Cloud-based data protection on-demand
-
Consumption-based and cloud-friendly pricing models – customers can ‘pay as you go’ for world-class data management or sign up for fixed-term subscriptions
-
Available on AWS Marketplace and many more to come – customers can buy data protection that suits their needs at the same time and place where they buy their infrastructure

Through this outcome-based subscription service, the firm makes it easy by managing its customers virtual environment and optimizing every aspect of their platforms – from backup and recovery to computing and storage consumption – empowering customers with control of their virtual infrastructure as it grows and diversifies. -
Complete B&RaaS for native cloud applications
Provides backup and recovery services for native cloud application data, including Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce with features such as long-term retention, compliance and archiving not normally found in a native cloud data management offering.
