Many view data as the most valuable resource in the world. Data is a source of business value and differentiation. The ability to rapidly derive actionable insights will enable progressively smarter business decisions and improve customer experiences, leading to new revenue streams. Data protection is paramount for trust across the ecosystem.
TS7700 is a virtual tape offering that delivers data protection for tape data on IBM Z, while providing rapid access to that data to facilitate those business decisions.
Release 4.2 enhances TS7700 by supporting a cloud storage tier as an option to store virtual tape volumes in a cloud environment. The server-less direct data transfer from TS7700 to a cloud can improve business efficiency while reducing capital and operating expense.
Release 4.2 builds on the capabilities of earlier 4.x releases.
