Congestion mitigation in distributed storage system
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 15, 2018 at 2:28 pmWekaIO, Inc. has been awarded its ninth patent in the United States; this one for ‘congestion mitigation in a distributed storage system.‘
The patent was filed on June 15, 2017 and awarded on July 10, 2018 under patent number 10019165.
This patented technology is at the core of the company’s ability to offer the kind of high data availability that is making it the de facto choice of AI innovators as well as enterprises with data-intensive applications. Indeed, the firm owes its status as a fast parallel file system to this patented ability to mitigate congestion in a distributed storage system.
Recently, independent SPEC SFS 2014 test results, revealed that using off-the-shelf industry-standard components, the company’s software achieved 1,200 simultaneous software builds and 600,000 IO/s at one millisecond overall response time, outperforming a combination of IBM Corp.‘s Spectrum Scale 5.0 with NVMe-over-fabrics appliance by 2X.
