HighPoint Technologies, Inc. announces macOS support for NVMe RAID storage solutions.

SSD7100 Series NVMe RAID controller

The company’s NVMe product lines now enable users of any experience level to add fast NVMe RAID storage to their Mac platform of choice.

The firm’s NVMe solutions support up to four off-the-shelf M.2 or U.2 SSDs, and can deliver up to 13,000MB/s of transfer performance for PC platforms, and up to 2,800MB/s for Thunderbolt 3! Mac professionals and can take advantage of this performance benefits and compact form factor of NVMe storage.

SSD7100 Series – NVMe RAID controllers
SSD7100 Series RAID controllers are independent NVMe RAID solutions, and employ company’s PCIe x16 bus switch, which delivers up to four dedicated PCIe 3.0 x4 lanes; one for each NVMe SSD. They are compatible with all major OS platforms such as Windows, Linux and now, macOS. Any modern computing platform with a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot can exploit the advantages of NVMe storage, and mix and match up to four off-the-shelf M.2 or U.2 SSD’s.

RocketStor 6661A-NVMe

RocketStor 6661A-NVMe – Add up to four M.2 drives via Thunderbolt 3 port
The RocketStor 6661A-NVMe is a NVMe to Thunderbolt 3 storage solution to support up to four off-the-shelf M.2 NVMe SSDs, which can be configured to operate independently or as part of a RAID-0, 1, 5 or 10 array. Users can start with a single SSD and upgrade as needed; mixing/matching M.2 drives, and scaling the available storage capacity to meet the changing requirements of each project. The compact, portable solution has been qualified with a range of NVMe SSDs, including Samsung’s 970 EVO and PRO series, and is capable of delivering up to 2,800MB/s of transfer performance. SSD6540

SSD6540 – End to end PCIe 3.0 x16 external NVMe RAID solution
The SSD6540 is a stand-alone NVMe RAID storage solution that includes a 4-bay NVMe U.2 enclosure, PCIe 3.0 x16 controller card with external SFF- 8644 connectors, two SFF-8644 8x data cables, and all necessary fastening and power accessories. The integrated RAID technology supports up to four U.2 SSD’s configured as arrays or independent disks. The compact form factor and modular RAID controller enable the SSD6540 to be moved between any Mac, Windows or Linux system a free PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, and the removable drive trays streamline integration, maintenance or upgrade procedures.

NVMe RAID and storage management
NVMe Manager features TRIM support, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring with total Terabyte Written (TBW) tracking. S.M.A.R.T. monitoring allows you to check the temperature, voltage and TBW of each NVMe SSD. The interface updates attribute data in real time, and can be even be configured to notify you by email, in the event of an error condition or threshold warning. NVMe Manager can also analyze PCIe bandwidth available to the NVMe RAID controller, which allows customers to select the slot capable of best maximizing transfer speeds.
