Mellanox Technologies India, Ltd., a subsidiary of Mellanox Technologies, Ltd., announced the appointment of Tirthankar Mitra to country GM for Mellanox Technologies India.
He will report to Charlie Foo, VP and GM, of AsiaPac/Japan.
Based in Mumbai, the seasoned executive with over 26 years of industry experiences will lead the business expansion in India and SAARC region. Previously, he held director and country head of sales and operations positions at Cisco Systems India.
“Mellanox leading Ethernet and IB interconnect solutions enable data centers to achieve highest performance, efficiency and overall ROI across the world. India is a strategic and an important growth market for Mellanox given the opportunities associated with its data center technology trends,” said Foo. “Mitra’s track record in establishing data-center and networking businesses makes him an excellent addition to Mellanox India. We look forward to Tirthankar’s support in scaling Mellanox to our next stages of growth.”
Mitra graduated with Bachelor of Science from Calcutta University and attended Harvard Business School’s education on Building Global Enterprises in India.
He also worked with AT&T, Novell, Red Hat, and Amazon Web Services.
