Flemish Government Awards Datadobi With Second “Innovation & Technology” Grant

For €1.6 million research project

Datadobi, Inc., a software company that enables its customers to migrate and protect their unstructured data anywhere, announced that the Flemish Government has awarded them with a second Innovation and Technology grant for a €1.6 Million research project.

This grant was awarded through the Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) in Flanders.

The mission of the VLAIO (formally known as IWT) is to support and assist companies, research institutes and innovation intermediaries in their technological innovation plans. This is the second time that the Flemish Government has awarded Datadobi with such a research-oriented grant. With their software, Datadobi continues to provide solutions to enterprise companies as they continue to face challenges around the explosion of unstructured data.

We are honored to be the recipient of this grant again. This funding will support our continued technical research on the topic of ‘Data Management at Scale,’ particularly around the migration and protection of company’s critical data. This includes-but is not limited to-our research on multi-protocol migrations, migrations from any NAS platform to S3, cloud to cloud data mobility and management of data at scale across storage technologies,” said Ian Leysen, CEO, Datadobi. “The core of Datadobi is our engineering team based in Leuven, Belgium. We expect a significant return to Flanders in the form of image building and employment opportunities as we continue to attract top talent to research and develop software that has become a game-changer in the storage industry.

In addition to the technical research, Datadobi will perform in-depth market research, patent analysis, and product definition to ensure that the project is appropriately focused and protected.
