Mark Weber Board’s Advisor, Cohesity

He led public sector sales at NetApp.

Cohesity, Inc. announced that veteran federal technology executive Mark Weber has joined the company as an advisor to its board of directors and federal sales leadership.

He led public sector sales at NetApp and will help accelerate Cohesity’s growing presence in the federal IT market.

Federal customers are large and dynamic with demanding compliance and security requirements, and we are pleased to serve many today, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Air Force, among others,” said Rob Salmon, COO and president, Cohesity. “Mark’s deep expertise in the public sector and proven sales growth with federal technology will accelerate our ability to serve federal customers and play a key role in guiding our expansion plans.”

Weber is a federal technology executive and leader with over 30 years of experience in technology sales and engineering. He served as SVP for the Americas at NetApp, leading channels, engineering, professional services, business development, finance, operations, and marketing across North America, South America, and the U.S. public sector. Prior to NetApp, he held similar roles for Sun Microsystems.

In speaking with Cohesity Federal customers, they’re impressed with the significant operational gains and simplicity that Cohesity brings with its modern, web-scale architecture,” Weber said. “Federal customers are already spending a tremendous amount on fragmented, siloed legacy infrastructure, and with Cohesity’s consolidated solution this can help public sector customers dramatically improve their IT environments and reduce TCO.”

Weber has been recognized with the Institute for Excellence in Sales’ 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award, the Wash100 Exec Ranks as an Innovative GovCon Technologist & Business Leader, the FedScoop50 Industry Leadership award in 2012 and 2013, and the Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100 Award in 2011.

He currently teaches about sales as an executive in residence at The Catholic University of America.
