Rubrik Enables CarePoint Health to Trade Complex Legacy IT Infrastructure

Rubrik, Inc. announced that CarePoint Health, a New Jersey healthcare group, has deployed its cloud data management platform and Microsoft Azure to modernize and simplify its IT operations.

The solution has helped CarePoint Health increase backup speed by 700%, reduce TCO by 50%, and achieve near-zero RTOs.

Founded in 2013 to help rebuild Hudson County, New Jersey’s aging healthcare system, CarePoint Health combines the resources of three area hospitals, Bayonne Medical Center, Christ Hospital in Jersey City, and Hoboken University Medical Center, to provide 360-degree coordinated care to residents.

As part of an initiative to integrate the three hospitals’ separate IT environments, CarePoint Health wanted to move to a hybrid cloud model leveraging Azure. However, it founds that its complex legacy backup systems presented a challenge to achieving its hybrid cloud vision.

After deploying Rubrik, CarePoint Health was able to: 

• Natively integrate with Microsoft apps, protecting critical SQL databases, Windows servers and Azure archives.
• Integrate with ServiceNow to enable an automated project intake process, saving time and building an automated, efficient environment.
• Easily deploy Azure to protect ~40TB of data in the cloud and replace tape for archival and recovery.
• Manage its Azure hybrid cloud environment through a single pane of glass with Rubrik cloud data management platform.
• Reduce backup times from over 8 hours to less than 30 minutes and reduce restore times to less than 1 minute.
• Implement Nutanix Acropolis (AHV) with Rubrik’s multi-hypervisor support.
