Recent updates include enabling AI and additional hybrid cloud workflows.
Thanks to AI, MatrixStore enables image searching, semantic tagging and video clip searching. This means that users are able to search based on specific content contained within the media files, making it much easier, and quicker, to find related footage. Semantic tagging enables videos to be automatically tagged with their subject matters, without the need to employ manual loggers.
Jonathan Morgan, CEO, Object Matrix, commented: “AI has huge potential to revolutionise the way content is stored and accessed. It has already been tried and tested for a range of real life use cases and I believe we will start to see it have a growing role for media companies over the coming months.“

The hybrid storage architecture enables customers to utilise their existing investment into on premise software packages that link into MatrixStore, as well as taking advantage of as-a-service software packages that link into cloud storage. It enables sharing of assets across multiple geographic regions, whilst avoiding unnecessary egress fees by keeping some content on-premise.
The company will be demonstrating its AI capabilities and hybrid cloud workflows at NAB on April 9-12.
