With the increasingly ubiquitous nature of the hybrid data centre, it is vital that the management of the underlying infrastructure also evolves to keep up with the demands of new and changing applications. To enable this, Virtual Instruments delivers holistic visibility into the performance, health and utilisation of customers’ IT infrastructures from the all-important perspective of the application.
Both Cisco and the company have a shared vision that infrastructure performance management must evolve to be application-centric. With VirtualWisdom’s App-centric analytics analysing the MDS SAN Telemetry Streaming data, customers can rapidly pin-point and proactively resolve SAN infrastructure issues before they impact application service levels.
“The Virtual Instruments partnership with Cisco is a direct result of customer feedback and is a recognition of the value of our solutions by one of the world’s most trusted technology vendors,” said John Gentry, CTO, Virtual Instruments. He adds, “VirtualWisdom’s unique real-time capability ingests SAN Streaming Telemetry data from Cisco’s MDS family of 32Gb line cards and switches to analyse key infrastructure performance metrics. This level of granular visibility, easy-to-understand analytics and seamless integration have not been available before and represents a new level of performance assurance for Cisco users.“
The partnership also extends the VirtualWisdom platform’s reach, increasing expansion within existing enterprise accounts to a wider variety of customers, including those in the mid-market.
