By Francis Pelletier | December 25, 2017 at 2:31 pmTechnische Universiteit Delft, Delft, The Netherlands, has been assigned a patent (9,824,753) developed by Hamdioui, Said, Bertels, Koenraad Laurent Maria, and Taouil, Mottaqiallah, Delft, The Netherlands, for a “computing device for big data applications using memristors.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A computing device includes a computation circuit and a data storage circuit. The computation circuit is coupled to the data storage circuit and is arranged for reading and writing data from/to the data storage circuit. The computing device includes a memory array of non-volatile memory elements and controlling circuitry connected to the memory array for reading and writing data from/to selected memory elements in the array. The computation circuit and the data storage circuit are located in the memory array, and the non-volatile memory elements of the memory array are memristor-type elements.”
The patent application was filed on October 21, 2015 (14/918,995).
