OnApp Launched Private/Hybrid Cloud Appliance

OnApp Ltd. has announced OnApp Enterprise – a range of solutions designed to transform price, performance and usability in the enterprise private cloud/hybrid cloud market.

The first company’s enterprise solution combines the firm’s cloud management software stack with Intel Data Center Blocks hardware to create a turnkey HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) appliance with the complete set of private and hybrid cloud management capabilities built in.

Designed for enterprise IT departments and SMBs, OnApp Enterprise includes a suite of private cloud deployment and orchestration tools; user management, access control and governance tools; metering, monitoring and showback/chargeback capabilities; connectivity to multiple public cloud providers; a scalable software-defined architecture with up to 254 servers per cluster and asymmetric storage and compute; and a single UI for private and public cloud management across multiple clusters, datacenters an clouds. Delivered as a ready-to-run HCI appliance, OnApp Enterprise is based on Intel Data Center Blocks, including Xeon Processors, Intel SSDs, Intel Server boards and other components in a configuration optimized for the company’s software capabilities. It is available at as little as a third of the cost of competing products, providing a cost-effective, easy to deploy solution.

OnApp Enterprise cloud appliances are available from Intel Technology Providers, including Iron Systems, Inc. in the US, New Era Informatique Pvt Ltd in India, MultiTech in Argentina and Uruguay, Colsof in Colombia, Rectron in South Africa, and Hammer plc. in Europe.

Launched in July 2010. OnApp has more than 3,500 companies in 93 countries run their cloud services on its software. It has 170 staff across the EU, US and AsiaPac and is headquartered in London, UK.
