CachePhysics, New Start-Up Founded by Irfan Ahmad
Leveraging all works and studies made at CloudPhysics
By Philippe Nicolas | September 6, 2017 at 2:45 pmIrfan Ahmad, founder in 2011 and long time CTO of CloudPhysics, has left the company in December 2016 to start a new venture: CachePhysics in Redwood City, CA.
Before CloudPhysics, he spent several years at VMware leading Storage DRS and Storage I/O Control engineering efforts. He has more than thirty patents.
Met recently, Irfan explained us that CloudPhysics continues to offer VMware vSphere VM Optimization and Management solutions with a good channel success. He continues his collaboration with the company as an advisor.
Irfan has returned to his long-time passion and effort around I/O analysis, caching effect and profiling linked to application performance especially in large data centers with his new project CachePhysics.
CachePhysics is a recent project with less than 10 employees and plan to raise money soon. This new firm will target DevOps to better understand I/Os and provide some recommendations on optimizations.
He will speak at SNIA Storage Developer Conference in a few days. He recently spoke at RedisConf 2017, the Redis Labs conference, and his presentation is available here.
