Compuverde Software-Defined vNAS Hyperscale Solution Deployed by Service Provider WWI in Denmark
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 6, 2017 at 2:32 pmCompuverde AB announced the successful deployment of its software-defined vNAS hyperscale solution for service provider WWI A/S, MSP in Denmark.
This resulted in a 300% increase in performance compared to similar solutions tested and an estimated 50% reduction of TCO, while making the storage highly scalable.
Service providers are facing exponentially larger data loads that call for agile storage solutions that can meet current and future needs. WWI contacted Compuverde when it needed a suitable and solid back-end storage solution for Veeam Cloud Connect. The project would require hundreds of terabytes of storage from day one and, more importantly, the potential to grow to petabytes and beyond in the following years.
The deployment delivered following business benefits to WWI:
- Innovative storage: Efficient and cost-effective managing of high-volume storage. Compuverde’s software solution leverages clusters of standardized servers to store petabytes of accessible data at low cost. Its approach distributes data access traffic evenly to all storage nodes, increasing performance multiple times over compared to similar solutions.
- Availability and scalability: Scalability and HA with less required administration compared to other storage options, along with the ability to perform hardware and software maintenance without any storage downtime.
- Affordable flexibility: Compuverde empowers WWI to take advantage of new hardware when it needs to scale, without having to replace its entire storage environment. This helps WWI stay ahead in its industry and keep up with all the new hardware trends, without having to constantly perform expensive ‘forklift upgrades.’
- User-friendly management: The offering is easy to install, configure and manage. “There’s no longer a need for our engineers to attend week-long courses in SAN management. The management tool is easy to get started with, and with little to no training an engineer can manage the solution on a day to day basis,” WWI executives said.
Carl-Henric Möllerström, VP, Compuverde, said: “Service providers today are facing exponentially larger data loads than ever before. This calls for agile storage solutions that can meet current and future needs – without breaking the bank. Our work with WWI demonstrates that it is possible to increase capacity and performance in demanding environments while reducing costs and simplifying management.”
Mathis Nybo, CTO, WWI, said: “Compuverde has managed to make storage simple, without sacrificing either features or performance. The level of HA we achieve with Compuverde would have been impossible with local storage. We have already begun looking into other areas of our hosting service where we can benefit from deploying Compuverde.“
