Seagate With 1TB/2TB Enterprise Capacity 3.5-Inch HDD v5.1

Seagate Technology plc (STX) announced the availability of its Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD v5.1 to address this challenge, offering a cost-effective capacity-optimised drive based on a ninth-generation nearline conventional magnetic recording (CMR) platform.

This enterprise HDD, available in capacities of 1TB or 2TB, is built specifically to address the entry-level bulk data needs of system architects, sales engineers and owners of small-to-medium businesses.

The v5.1 features a 6Gb SATA interface with industry-standard format (512n) for integration into highly valued, scalable storage systems
Supports 10X the workloads of desktop drives by supporting maximum enterprise nearline unstructured data workloads of 550TB/year, and includes cost-saving features like PowerChoice and RAID Rebuild
Provides an cost-effective 1TB and 2TB HDDs for enterprise nearline bulk storage while providing 24/7 reliability, supporting server and storage systems in the field at the lowest possible cost structure for up to five years – even in the harshest environments
