EMEA Revenue Up 50% Y/Y for Datto
UK office increasing headcount by 60% this year and opening new European HQs

With partner attendance up a staggering 178% compared to last year, Datto unveiled several product updates designed to help MSP partners continue expanding their market opportunities by protecting business data.
Over the course of 2016, Datto has experienced growth in EMEA resulting in demand for its solutions. The firm continues to expand and is currently supporting partners in 18 countries across the region.
Datto’s Reading, UK office increased headcount by 60% this year in addition to opening a new European HQs to keep up with employee growth. With EMEA revenue up 50% compared to this time last year and expectations for growth, Datto is making additional investments in the region in 2017 and beyond.
DattoCon EMEA has become a large MSP channel event in Europe with more than 300 MSPs in attendance. With a security theme for the event, attendees will hear from featured luminaries such as Dame Stella Rimington, former general director of MI5, the UK’s domestic counter intelligence and security agency, and Jamie Bartlett, Daily Telegraph journalist and author of The Dark Net. Stella will highlight her work leading all three departments of MI5, including counter surveillance, counter subversion and counter terrorism, and Bartlett will discuss today’s cybersecurity climate and online privacy, respectively.
During the conference keynote, Datto CEO Austin McChord launched several new software and hardware updates to support its fast growing MSP partner base in EMEA, including a Backup and DR (BDR) solution to combat ransomware. Of particular interest to EMEA partners looking to store their customer’s data in region is the new release of geographical backup replication across Datto’s EMEA data centers. In 2016, Datto opened several European data centers to offer EMEA partners more choice, including data centers in Iceland and Frankfurt, Germany.
In order to support MSPs in EMEA and beyond,
Datto announced the following new solutions and enhancements:
• Datto SIRIS 3, an integrated total data protection platform, now includes the a ransomware detection capability. When ransomware is detected, SIRIS 3 notifies admins and allows them to roll back to a state before the ransomware hit, saving businesses from downtime and avoiding the ransom. Further, SIRIS 3 now includes screenshot verification, providing script execution to ensure even the most complex backups are viable. A local instance of Datto’s file sync and share solution, Datto Drive, as well as four new device options – the all flash 2 S3X2, and new 80, 100 and120 TB enterprise devices ensure SIRIS 3 sets a benchmark for DR.
• Datto NAS 3, the cloud protected network storage solution, now offers Infinite Cloud Retention (ICR). ICR allows customers to save all of their data to the Datto Cloud indefinitely, regardless of capacity used. In addition, NAS 3 is available with new hardware, as well as block level deduplication for local shares. Two additional features, NAS Guard and Datto Drive local, make NAS 3 the network storage appliance of choice for SMBs. NAS Guard allows Datto NAS to connect with, backup and protect in the cloud any data stored anywhere on local network storage. Datto Drive local brings the benefits of Datto Drive file sync and share to the local network device.
• Datto Backupify, the cloud-to-cloud data protection solution, added several features, including new pricing tiers and new seat management capabilities. EMEA MSPs can now individually select which cloud user accounts to backup in order to manage costs. Also unveiled was the new management panel, simplifying the management, monitoring and troubleshooting of customer accounts via the partner portal. Partners can now purchase and provision Datto Backupify licenses to protect their customer’s data in the cloud.
• Other announcements include 2 Factor Authentication for the Partner Portal and an updated Status 2.0 that makes monitoring and managing Datto Devices simpler with configurable alert thresholds. Datto Drive enhancements were also released, including user activity reporting, daily backups, management utilities, and custom theming.
