Formerly had same position in same countries at DataCore

FalconStor, bullFalconStor Software, Inc. appointed David Bull as technical sales director for the Australia and New Zealand region, tasked with expanding market opportunity for FreeStor converged data services platform.

An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience including software-defined storage, virtualization, and cloud markets, he has helped many organisations harness and control their storage challenges. As an independent consultant for much of his career, he worked with end users, integrators, and vendors, gaining a view of the value and business propositions that emerging technologies represent in today’s enterprise.

Most recently, Bull was instrumental in establishing DataCore Software’s software-defined storage business across Australia and New Zealand here he was responsible for building the company’s customer base, setting up a distribution network and partner eco-systems.

Enterprises in Australia and New Zealand are keen to update infrastructure to make storage more efficient, but as yet it’s the wild, wild west for newer technologies like cloud, hybrid cloud, flash storage and software-defined storage,” said Bull. “FreeStor is an innovative approach to combining emerging technologies and delivering strategic IT services on a subscription-based OpEx-friendly model, while also preserving existing storage investments for better lifespan and value.

FalconStor’s history in ANZ began in September 2001, and the company has enjoyed success from its earliest storage management software products. Bull’s appointment coincides with continued investment in channel building, MSP/CSP relationships, and support for the existing ANZ customer base.

David is an excellent torchbearer as we lead end users and partners in the Australia-New Zealand region to a new generation of data center infrastructure,” said Alan Komet, EVP of WW field operations. “The storage landscape is ripe for disruption by divorcing software from hardware, and this market will understand the benefits of FreeStor in both traditional data services like BC and recovery, plus new requirements like predictive analytics and multitenancy for xSPs.”
