Western Digital Shipping G-Technology NAS for Content Creators

The G-RACK 12 and other G-Technology storage solutions were be on display at IBC2016, September 9-13, in Amsterdam.
The G-RACK 12 NAS solution streamlines demanding media and entertainment video workflows, including 4K and above resolution, with a scalable 12-bay server offering capacities up to 120TB1 – and 600TB2 with the four G-RACK 12 expansion units.
Its reliability and centralized storage capabilities are suited for small-to-medium-size post-production houses, TV/broadcast studios, ad agencies, and in-house creative departments using Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer, or other creative applications. G-RACK 12 is good storage solution for collaboration, utilizing four 10GbE RJ-45 connections for fast data transfers.
The G-RACK 12 solution made its US debut at this year’s NAB show in Las Vegas and is making its European presence at IBC2016.
A significant value of the G-RACK 12 solution is the G-Technology-developed NAS OS that garnered NAB praise for the intuitive, simple-to-use management interface. With a commitment to continual improvement, a number of updates to this NAS OS has been released for new and existing customers. These updates include the ability to support a total of four G-RACK expansion units that will provide up to 500TB of usable storage capacity. This latest OS version showcased a platform for third-party partner applications embedded onto the G-RACK 12 to provide additional functionality. Improved user support and enhanced RAID management capabilities are also included in the latest version of the G-RACK NAS OS.

G-RACK 12 incorporates a G-Technology-developed NAS OS with the BTRfs file system, the SCST iSCSI engine, and a graphical interface that removes the complexity of typical NAS administrative systems.
The 12-bay, expandable units incorporate enterprise HDDs and are available in 48TB, 72TB, 96TB, and 120TB storage capacities.
The G-RACK 12 is sold through authorized resellers across North America and Europe.
