Mushkin ECO3 SSD at 240GB and 480GB

Mushkin Enhanced MFG announced its latest addition to the ECO series of SSDs, the ECO3.

The ECO3 boost system responsiveness while providing value. Initially available in 240GB and 480GB capacities, the ECO3 will be exclusively available at Newegg.com.

“The ECO3 represents an exciting evolution of solid state storage technology. Advances in NAND flash and controller technologies have allowed Mushkin to design a new generation of SSDs at even more affordable price points,” said Brian Flood, director of product development, Mushkin. “While these drives provide a higher level of value, they maintain the advantages of SSDs – faster boot up times, faster application launches, quicker response times, and lower power consumption.”

Powered by a Silicon Motion SM2256 controller, the ECO3 SSD achieves up to 560MB/s read and 515MB/s write speeds, as well as transaction rates of up to 87,000 IO/s. Furthermore, when compared to a typical HDD, the new ECO3 is more energy efficient, resulting in longer battery life and a cooler, quieter system.
