With 280TB MatrixStore nearline storage
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 7, 2015 at 2:31 pmObject Matrix Limited announces that Eliote, the Paris-based provider of studio and post production services to the French broadcast market, has selected MatrixStore object storage to protect content in multi-site EVS live and fast-turnaround production driven workflows.
Eliote has a long and existing working relationship with Object Matrix through their mutual customer M6. The experience of working with Object Matrix made choosing MatrixStore to be the nearline element of the broadcast workflow managed service.
“Having worked with Object Matrix since 2012 we appreciate the close technical and business support they provide,” stated Fernando Carvalho. “As Eliote expands and reinvents its service offering we need a storage partner we can rely on to help us scale in every facet of the business to build a new proposition for our customers. Object Matrix fits the bill perfectly.“
Recognising the move to managed services Eliote identified the opportunity to offer tightly integrated broadcast workflow solutions to the French broadcast community that cannot be offered by public cloud providers. Content is now available from remote studios to a secure data centre on a dark fibre network. The freshly shot media is available for the post-production staff. Not only do the end users get the benefit of an OPEX based approach to their workflow and storage requirements but also have highly experienced broadcast and storage teams supporting the solution.
“Object Matrix prides itself on rigorously testing MatrixStore, the object based nearline storage solutions, against the variety of 3rd party broadcast workflow platforms that our customers use. ” stated Nick Pearce, co-founder, Object Matrix. “That flexibility and workflow support ensures that service based organisations like Eliote can have confidence in growing their business knowing their underlying storage technology can scale in capacity, performance and integration.“
The MatrixStore platform chosen by Eliote consists of 280TB nets of 10gigE connected nearline storage coupled with a MatrixStore hub server that enables the EVS live and fast turnaround production workflows. Content is archived and accessed from the nearline platform using the powerful IPDirector production content management solution from EVS.
The design and sales process has been driven and supported by Object Matrix partner IVORY located in Paris.
