Jerry Melnick has been named president and CEO and Charles Lenis has joined the company as SVP of worldwide sales.
These appointments reflect the company’s growth based on increased sales of its SANless clustering software around the globe and its expansion into the IT operations analytics market with its recent introduction of its machine learning-based software platform for optimizing VMware environments.
Jerry Melnick, who joined SIOS in April 2013 as COO, brings more than 25 years of experience in driving innovation in enterprise and HA markets. Before joining SIOS, he was CTO at Marathon Technologies where he led business and product strategy for the company’s fault tolerant solutions. He will replace Nobuo Kita who will retain his role as COB and president and CEO of SIOS Technology Corp.’s parent company SIOS Technology Group.
“Under his tenure, Jerry has led and transformed SIOS as a truly innovative company, from growing our leadership position in the HA clustering software market to spear-heading our entrance into the IT operations analytics market with the launch of SIOS iQ,” said Nobuo Kita, president and CEO, SIOS Technology Group. “This promotion is in recognition of Jerry’s significant contributions and the confidence of the board of directors that he is the right leader to drive SIOS’ future growth and success.”
“SIOS is extremely well-positioned to expand its reach in the HA SANless clustering software market across physical, virtual and cloud environments. And with the recent availability of SIOS iQ, we are leveraging our deep expertise in machine learning and infrastructure computing to provide IT with an extraordinarily simple and intelligent solution that learns infrastructure behaviors and provides answers to difficult problems in complex VMware IT environments,” said Melnick. “As we continue to constantly drive customer value through technical innovation, we will grow SIOS in remarkable new ways.”
“We are very pleased to have Charlie join the team to champion our sales and business development activities as we deepen our presence in the software clustering market with proven SANless clustering technology, while emerging as a leading innovator in the IT operations analytics market,” said Melnick. “Charlie’s broad experience in achieving success for start-ups and established companies alike was very appealing to SIOS as we focus on driving our growth and achieving our revenue goals.”
“I’m thrilled to join SIOS at this exciting time in its growth,” said Lenis. “To contribute to an established leader while also building success in a new market is a unique opportunity that utilizes my diverse background and skillset. Having worked with Jerry in the past is certainly an important factor in validating my decision to join his team. I look forward to be part of the leadership team creating a great future for SIOS.“
Charles Lenis joins SIOS from Allot Communications where, as director of North American sales, he managed revenue attainment for Fortune 500 enterprise accounts, satellite network providers and cloud service providers. He will report to Melnick. His career spans more than 25 years recruiting, building and driving revenues through direct and indirect sales channels, value-added resellers, major system integrators, and first and second-tier distributors. He’s held senior level sales and business development positions with companies including Verizon, Siemens, Invoice Insight (acquired by Dimension Data), Marathon Technologies, Broadwing Communications and PixStream, Inc. (acquired by Cisco).
