Toshiba and QCT to Advance Storage Solution

New facility in San Jose, CA dedicated to R&D of cloud storage technologies

The storage products business unit of Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) is invited to be part of the opening ceremony of QCT’s (Quanta cloud Technology) new San Jose, CA based-cloud solution center on October 6, 2015.

This facility will be dedicated to the development and research of cloud storage technologies for data centers.

With this grand opening, QCT, a data center solution provider, extends its services to North America, offering a spectrum of data center products and services from engineering, integration and optimization to supply chain support, all under one roof. During the grand opening ceremony in San Jose, several technology companies and storage providers will explore and test hyper-converged infrastructure provided by hyperscale cloud datacenter experts.

QCT’s cloud Solution Center will help optimize Toshiba’s PX02SM and HK3R2 enterprise SSD drives for various workload environments to reach a balance between endurance, cost and performance,” said Steve Fingerhut, SVP, GM of the storage products business unit, TAEC. “We believe that the collaboration between QCT and Toshiba will enhance both companies’ roles in the development of cloud storage applications.

QCT and Toshiba executives were on-site to offer demonstrations of enterprise cloud storage technologies. Dr. Yoichiro Tanaka, senior fellow of storage products division, Toshiba, were on a discussion panel at the center’s opening event.
