IBM SB7700-ES2F and SB7700-ES2R EDR IB Switches From Mellanox
Up to 10Gb/s full bidirectional bandwidth per port
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 12, 2015 at 2:58 pmNetworking SB7700-ES2F/SB7700-ES2R 36 port EDR 100Gb/s IB switch system offers the following features and benefits.
Performance:
- 36X EDR 100Gb/s ports in a 1U switch
- 7Tb/s aggregate switch throughput
- 130ns switch latency
Design:
- 1+1 redundant and hot-swappable power
- N+1 redundant and hot-swappable fans
- 80 gold+ and ENERGY STAR-certified power supplies
These stand-alone switches are a choice for top-of-rack leaf connectivity or for building small to medium-sized clusters. They are designed to carry converged LAN and SAN traffic with the combination of assured bandwidth and granular QoS.
The integrated IB routing function enables design and deployment of larger-scale IB fabrics. Its low-latency enables fast communications within and across the data center. IB routing also enables fabric isolation between different cluster segments (compute/network and storage).
The SB7000 switch family enables efficient computing with features such as static routing, adaptive routing, and advanced congestion management. These features ensure the maximum effective fabric bandwidth by eliminating congestion hot spots.
Key prerequisites: IBM Power Systems servers
Planned availability date: October 30, 2015
