PPD documents complement company’s various partnership efforts, which include the company’s own PernixDrive program and membership in strategic third-party programs from Cisco, Citrix, VCE, VMware and others, to assure seamless deployment of storage intelligence software in every virtualized data center. With these joint solutions, any company can deploy a best-of-breed decoupled storage architecture that maximizes the performance of virtualized applications while minimizing ongoing storage costs.
PernixData designs ensure deployment
“With PernixData Proven Designs we can satisfy any company’s storage performance and capacity requirements using best-in-class servers, storage and applications,” said John Powers, CEO, GCSIT, a PernixData solution provider. “All components work providing the software architecture we need to optimize storage performance with 100% fault tolerance and scale-out growth.”
PPD reference architectures and design guides can be found on the PPD page, along with solution briefs, case studies and whitepapers for the following solutions (with more coming every week):
-
Storage: Dell EqualLogic, Dell Compellent, EMC VNX, HP 3Par, NetApp FAS
-
Servers: Cisco UCS, Dell PowerEdge, HP Proliant
-
Converged Systems: VCE Vblock
-
Applications: Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp, Oracle, SQL Server, Splunk, VMware Horizon
-
Media: HGST, Intel, Kingston, Micron, SanDisk
“As decoupled storage becomes the de-facto standard in all virtualized data centers, it becomes increasingly important to show customers how the various server, storage and application pieces seamlessly fit together,” said Bala Narasimhan, VP products, PernixData. “The PPD program is an important step in this direction, complementing our robust partnership efforts with detailed design guides that underscore the simplicity and robustness of the PernixData platform.“

Building decoupled ecosystem through technology alliances
The PernixDrive technology alliance program brings leading vendors together for the advancement of decoupled storage architectures. Through combined sales, marketing and engineering efforts, PernixData is collaborating with companies to integrate our storage intelligence software with complementary hardware and software products.
Vendors currently part of the PernixDrive program include HGST, Intel, Kingston, Micron and Toshiba.
PernixData is member of the following third party partner programs:
-
Cisco Solution Partner with IVT certification – PernixData has joined the Cisco Solution Partner Program to advance the adoption of FVP software with Cisco UCS servers in decoupled storage environments. FVP software has completed Cisco’s Interoperability Verification Testing, ensuring interoperability with the UCS platform.
-
FVP is Verified as Citrix ready; PernixData is a Citrix Ready Premier Partner – FVP software has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with XenDesktop and XenApp to ensure fast, reliable and scalable virtual desktop and application delivery.
-
VCE Vblock Ready – PernixData has completed a series of comprehensive tests that validate the solution’s ability to run on Vblock Systems under normal operating conditions and failure scenarios.
-
VMware (Horizon View) Validated – FVP software is certified with VMware Horizon View for virtual desktop deployments, which includes a validated reference architecture.
-
VMware Elite Technology Alliance Partner and Partner Verified and Supported Product (PVSP) – PernixData is an Elite VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP), which provides technical and marketing benefits plus access to software for validation and integration. In addition, the FVP platform is a VMware Partner Verified and Supported Product (PVSP), meaning it is certified by VMware for installment with vSphere.
