Infinitely Virtual introduced InfiniteProtect, an cloud-based backup/DR solution to support file retention for an unlimited period of time – and to make DR capabilities available to users outside of company’s hosted environment.

Aimed at existing and new users alike, it enables hosted server customers to increase backup retention from the current 28 days to any duration the customer specifies. For those who choose not to move to the company’s virtual environment, it can serve as the backup option; if the local server goes offline, InfiniteProtect, mirroring the local disk, provides DR.

InfiniteProtect enables users to backup files and retain them indefinitely – from anywhere in the world, based on whatever schedule they prefer. This solution integrates DR capabilities free of charge; users pay only when disaster strikes. If an entire office were to be affected, for example, InfiniteProtect would place an image on a virtual server and enable users to access applications and files over the Internet. In that situation, the business would pay only for data that Infinitely Virtual stores.
