Vembu BDR v2.1.1

Backup to cloud via disk transfer over Internet

Vembu Technologies, Inc. announced BDR v2.1.1, packaged with the two frequently requested features by its customers.

Vembu-BDR

This is an option that allows an organization to take its backup to the cloud via disk transfer over Internet. Transferring a sizable amount of data to cloud via Internet can take some time. Vembu supports seeding backup server data through HDD shipped to cloud server with this release. This process of storing backup data online requires less time with limited bandwidth.

With seeding option you can get your backup server data replicated to a local disk and shipped to cloud to initiate a seed backup process. Once this process has been accomplished, further incremental/additional full backups will be automatically replicated from the backup server to the cloud server.

The backup window scheduling feature helps manage cloud backup schedules.

Download VMDK in direct ESXi bootable format:
BDR v2.1.1 supports downloading flat VMDK files. Flat VMDK formats can be directly booted in ESXi servers without any additional requirements. Previous versions of Vembu had thin VMDK downloads available, which needed steps to be followed to make them work on ESXi servers.

You can also download VHD files in addition for getting the backup data bootable in Hyper-V machines.
