Toshiba With 5TB Internal SATA 3.5-Inch HDDs

Toshiba Europe GmbH (TEG), Storage Peripherals Division, launches the MD Series, a set of internal HDDs that offers up to 5TB of storage capacity.

The 3.5 inch drives with SATA interface are fast and power efficient, and they operate silently, which makes them suitable for office and home use. The PX3009E-1HP0 (4TB) and PX3010E-1HQ0 (5TB) models will be available in March 2015.

Add up to 5TB of internal storage with the new MD Series of SATA 3.5 inch internal HDDs, to store more documents, images and data to your own PC. Both models, the 4TB and 5TB HDD, are suited for users with high demands on their technical products. For instance, they help professional and home users work faster due to the 7,200rpm platter, a 128MB memory buffer and Native Command Queuing. These work together for higher load-and-save times, lower latency and on-the-fly optimisation of the queued recording commands. The MD Series features 6.0 Gb/s interface speed.

Power-efficient performance
Despite the speed, the components keep energy consumption and heat build-up at a minimum. This new series contains the latest Toshiba technology, including a clever ramp-loading system and built-in shock sensor to safeguard the user’s critical data.

High density
The MD Series makes use of PMR technology and Tunnel Magneto Resistive (TMR) read-write technology, which help these internal disk drives achieve higher density recording to increase capacity and speed. Other features are their faster rotational speed and larger buffer.
