Canadian Payworks Becoming Customer of PernixData

Speeding cloud applications "by 300x" with FVP software, HP storage and Intel flash

PernixData, Inc. announced that Payworks, Inc., a Canadian-owned in the field of total workforce management solutions, has selected its FVP software to optimize the performance of their web server cluster running the company’s payroll, human resources, and employee time management solutions.

By deploying FVP with HP servers and storage and Intel flash, the company reduced their application latency for its cloud applications to under 1ms, ensuring that customers always receive quick and easy access to their data from anywhere in the world.

PernixData FVP software is a natural fit for our environment, delivering immediate web performance gains with no changes to our storage infrastructure,” said Bob Haldane, infrastructure manager, Payworks. “There is no better way to cost effectively add storage performance independent of buying more storage capacity.

FVP clusters flash and RAM across servers to accelerate reads and writes to shared storage. By putting storage intelligence into servers, it decouples storage performance from capacity for faster virtualized applications, lower storage costs, and storage performance that scales-out linearly with computing resources.

The FVP software was installed in a matter of minutes with our HP BL460 Gen 8/9 blade servers, Intel S3700 SSDs and HP storage platform,” said Haldane. “While we are thrilled with the performance FVP delivers, the ease of installation with zero downtime was the clincher for us. Plus, FVP lays a foundation for future application growth, enabling us to deploy more VMs and virtual databases without worrying about storage performance bottlenecks.
