Racklive in Partnership With Storiant for ‘Ready-to-Roll’ Rack-Level Solutions

Up to 768 3.5-inch HDDs per rack for 3PB usable capacity

Racklive, a division of ASA Computers, and Storiant, Inc. announced, at SC14 Conference on November 17, 2014, a partnership to develop and optimize integrated, ‘ready-to-roll’ rack-level storage solutions, extending public cloud economics to private cloud/enterprise consumers.

The joint commitment will provide scale-out storage solutions offering distinctive density – up to 768 large-capacity storage drives with greater than 3PB usable – per rack column. I

In addition, the solution will provide industry power efficiency by leveraging active disk power governor technology – thereby, only powering-on the number of disks needed to meet immediate consumer demands.

The Storiant and Racklive partnership provides distinctive benefits for a broad customer base. Storiant’s expert team has formulated a highly configurable, innovative platform. Racklive is proud our custom engineering and deployment expertise can play a foundational role in maximizing the value of such a solution,” said Joel Wineland, CTO, Racklive.

As part of the partnership, Racklive is providing manufacturing, integration and configuration expertise to bring solutions to market, supporting up to 768 3.5″ large-capacity storage drives per rack enclosure. This expertise will aid archival, analytics and scale-out object storage solutions.

Additional features including Racklive’s custom engineered extreme rack enclosures, in-rack distributed DC power shelves, 4U 96 drive JBOD, and vibration mitigating, tool-less disk carriers round out the solution, reducing costs and maximizing density while effectively minimizing TCO.

Racklive’s solution architects and Storiant’s engineers optimize cabinet-level solutions for diverse application demands. Storiant’s monitoring, diverse software interfaces, and compliance features provide TCO economics that rival traditional tape, while providing ready-access to the data.
