Eliminating portble HDDs

Soonr, Inc. announced that non-profit organization Youth Frameworks has selected its Workplace to provide secure file sharing and collaboration for its mobile team of inspirational educators, writers, editors and artists.

Youth Frameworks

With Workplace, Youth Frameworks has eliminated the use of cumbersome portable HDDs and automated the sync and sharing of large files across multiple computers.

Established in 1996, Youth Frameworks is a non-profit corporation that provides resources to aid churches in their ministry of spiritual growth and renewal for today’s teenagers. Offering speakers for youth events, Youth Leader training and curriculums for churches and camps, it helps churches, mission works and ministry events reach young people. The organization also takes teams of people around the US and internationally to assist churches and missionaries in conducting outreach events in their communities.

The staff is a mobile team that works with churches and mission programs around the world. As members of the non-profit organization travel they need to bring their work data with them. Among the materials produced by Youth Frameworks’ staff is a published curriculum for Youth Leader training. These materials involve writers, editors and artists that are often in different locations and need to share large files throughout the publishing process.

Before turning to the Workplace secure file sharing solution, Youth Frameworks used portable HDDs to carry necessary documents on the road and to backup materials while working remotely. But the HDDs weren’t solving the non-profit’s true challenge for data access and collaboration. Now, by using Workplace the non-profit organization never has to worry about losing data in the office or on the road. Files are backed up and synced with other selected computers in real time, so information is always where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

We either never had enough space on the portable drives or didn’t have them with us when we needed to access files,” said Robert Wallace, president, Youth Frameworks. “But our biggest challenge was the need to access files on various computers. We needed an automated solution that would sync content with all of our computers and allow us to easily collaborate no matter where we were working. Now, we always have access to all of the most up-to-date versions of our files with Soonr. It’s truly hassle free and easy to use.

Among the Workplace features Youth Frameworks finds valuable is the file sharing solution’s ability to provide online and offline access to documents with integrated rendering for over 50 different files types. This allows the organization to view its documents without the need for third party applications. Detailed control functionality also allows the non-profit organization to flexibly manage the share, sync and public link permissions for each of its team members.
