Sans Digital Announces SSD Caching Option on EliteNAS
Keeps hottest data on solid-state drive.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 25, 2014 at 2:53 pmSans Digital, Inc. announced that SSD caching option is available to EliteNAS for 2U and up.
To satisfy high IO/s request from database or mission-critical business application, IT deployment is always looking for low latency, high efficiency and optimized system. Traditionally, ways to increase performance by using SSD flash array, increase number of high performance SAS or SATA drives. However, those method present the problem of cost or increase systems complexities.
The SSD caching option allow customer to use the SSD as cache area. Once the data from slower SAS or SATA HDDs is determined as hot data, the system will automatically move the data to the SSD, and hence provide increased performance. SSD option can work in any of EliteNAS product line, 2U and up.
Unlike other product in the market, which only allow limited number of SSD (Synology) or form factor (QNAP), Sans Digital does not limit on number of SSD. This option provide IO/s performance increase for both network share (CIFS, NFS and AFP) as well as iSCSI volume.
