This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 25, 2014 at 2:54 pmTEO LT, AB a part of TeliaSonera telecommunication group in Lithuania, has launched cloud storage with access based on SOSA (Storegate Online Storage Application).
It added cloud sharing which enable their TV customers to share and view, videos and pictures through the same service.
When a customer uploads a home video to the Saugykla cloud storage service, he can also share the video with all other TV customers using a numeric code. When a friend receives the code he can enter the code via the TV remote control and view the video on his own TV screen. The solution was integrated with the SOSA platform using the Storegate API.
TEO has had the service for broadband customers, both residential and business customers, since 2012. After this launch also TV users are connected to the service.
“Our domestic cloud storage service with high speed and integrated functionality will be a strong competitor to other cloud services with slow connections and data centers in unknown countries. The customers are being more and more selective when choosing cloud storage services,” says Daiva Zilinskaite, marketing project manager, TEO. “And we guess this is also a result of the NSA debate.“
“TEO has really made a difference on the Lithuanian market with their Saugykla service. They have showed that speed and functionality really matters,” says Stefan Iva, sales director, Storegate AB.
