Available with 12, 16 and 24 bays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 2, 2014 at 3:11 pmUNIFOSA Corp. announced that the latest 12Gb SAS JBOD series has passed the Windows Server 2012 R2 certification.
The product line, including 2U 12Bay, 2U 24Bay and 3U 16Bay, features redundant hardware design optimized for high capacity, expandability and performance. It completed the verification process to ensure compatibility with Windows Server 2012 R2 and provide users performance with agility for system deployment in Windows server environment.
There are totally 3 platforms and 6 models available, including 2U/12-bay form factor (EP-2126J1/JD1-SCSC), 2U 24-bay form factor (EP-2246J/JD-SCSC) and 3U 16-bay form factor (EP-3166J1/JD1-SCSC).
It accommodates the SAS 3.0 12Gb/s interface which boost up the throughput up to 4,800MB/s per host and it’s also easy for deployment and integration into Windows-based servers. The JBOD solution comes with either dual or single JBOD controller configuration for options. On each JBOD controller, there are three built-in 12Gb 4x mini SAS HD ports doubles bandwidth and throughput than former 6Gb interface. These three SAS ports can be configured as either SAS host channel or SAS expansion port by request.
It also incorporates enhancements in SAS along with LSI DataBolt bandwidth optimizer technology. By leveraging DataBolt, it delivers optimized throughput by allowing users to gain 12Gb host speed with 6Gb drives.
It also provides GUI to monitor enclosure remotely via Ethernet. And it utilizes SCSI enclosure services to monitor enclosure and disk conditions, such as temperature, voltage, fan speed and power supply status, etc. Hence, a JBOD with a complete management tool is a choice for Windows servers.
