New Riberbed 168,000 Square-Foot HQs

At 680 Folsom Street (SoMa neighborhood), San Francisco bay area

Riverbed Technology, Inc. celebrated new worldwide HQs, located at refurbished 680 Folsom Street (SoMa neighborhood), with an employee parade (with the South San Francisco High School Marching Band), ribbon cutting ceremony attended by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Supervisor Jane Kim, and a $50,000 donation to the SF-Marin Food Bank.

Riverbed Celebrated New WW HQs and Roots in San Francisco

The HQs represents the company’s continued growth, commitment to the San Francisco Bay Area community, hard work and dedication of employees, and more than 25,000 customers. Riverbed, in application performance infrastructure, is the second largest company (by revenue) headquartered in San Francisco and was founded in the city 12 years ago. Since Riverbed’s last HQs move in 2007 (also in San Francisco), the company has grown from nearly $100 million to more than $1 billion in revenue, and from a single product to multi-product application performance platform company. Riverbed has an expanded opportunity in the $11 billion application performance infrastructure market.

Just as the company’s product portfolio has grown, so has its engagement in San Francisco with continual community support from Riverbed and employees, who have donated both time and money to San Francisco-based causes. Employees also support the San Francisco community and economy by riding public transportation, eating at nearby restaurants, using local businesses and services and participating in community organizations.

Riverbed was named one of the Top 20 Best Places to Work in the Glassdoor, Inc. Employees’ Choice Awards for the second straight year. It was also named one of the Best Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area for the fourth time by its employees and the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Riverbed Community Commitment and New Food Bank Donation
Riverbed and its employees donate time and money to both global and San Francisco-based causes supporting anti-poverty programs, natural disaster relief and disadvantaged youth. Since its beginning, Riverbed has given donations to San Francisco-based non-profits such as the SF-Marin Food Bank, Women’s Community Clinic and UCSF Children’s Hospital, among others.

To celebrate its newest home in the city, Riverbed will donate $50,000 to the SF-Marin Food Bank at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Food Bank Chairperson Tim Geraghty will be in attendance to accept the donation, which also includes 680 cans of food. Riverbed will also make a donation for new uniforms on behalf of the South San Francisco High School Band, which will be performing in the company’s celebratory parade.
