James Whitemore CMO, SolidFire
New position in company

In this role, he will lead SolidFire’s worldwide marketing efforts, including corporate, product and field marketing as the company continues its growth.
He will work collaboratively with executive leadership, engineering, and sales teams to develop and implement customer acquisition, expansion and retention strategies to drive sustained awareness of brand and revenue growth across its sales channels and markets worldwide.

A veteran of the cloud computing and storage industry, James has more than 25 years experience leading, developing and executing global sales, product management and marketing strategies. He most recently served as SVP sales and marketing at West IP Communications, of technology-driven communications services, where he led the company’s Unified Communications-as-a-Services (UCaSS) business. Prior to his tenure at West IP Communications, he was EVP sales and marketing at Smoothstone IP Communications.
Prior to Smoothstone, he was the CMO at Savvis and he has held a variety of sales and marketing positions in Europe, Asia and the U.S. with Sun Microsystems, IBM, StorageTek and Standard Telephones and Cables (STC).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Northumbria University.
