Edward Sharp CEO, Quorum …

Former VP of emerging products at NetApp

Quorum, Inc. appointed a new CEO. Edward Sharp, former VP of emerging products at NetApp, will take the reins from interim CEO Walter Angerer effective immediately, continuing to drive the company momentum that characterized Angerer’s tenure.

Sharp,Quorum Before joining Quorum, he spent 15 years at NetApp in various positions before his final role there as VP of emerging products. In this capacity, he led emerging businesses at NetApp in the areas of mobile, data protection, flash and object storage. His previous roles at NetApp include VP of product strategy and operations, VP of data protection, and senior director of pricing and strategic planning.

Prior to NetApp, he spent several years as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. and served as GM for the National Water Commission.

He holds a patent titled Method and system for providing a usage guarantee in the operation of a storage server in a network storage system.

Edward holds a bachelor of arts degree from Oxford University in engineering, economics, and management. He also holds a master of science degree from Stanford University in electrical engineering.

Sharp’s appointment comes on the heels of an impressive 2013 and promising start to 2014. The company closed out 2013 with record growth, reflecting an increase in demand for the company’s DRaaS technology. November’s $10 million Series C funding round helped is helping the company meet this demand with additional headcount in sales and engineering.
