MSys Initiates Build-Operate-Transfer Services

To help companies begin operations from new location

MSys Technologies,LLC is a technology company with years of experience in technologies including storage, virtualization, telecommunication, embedded systems, cloud computing, quality assurance, and enterprise app development.

MSys has recently started providing build-operate-transfer (BOT) business services to its clients.

Build-Operate-Transfer Business Model
MSys intends to help companies begin operations from a new location with the new BOT business model. BOT has several advantages in comparison to building a traditional offshore development center. A smooth offshore transition can be ensured with BOT service. MSys’s recent acquisition of Clogeny, a Pune, India-based technology company, has created one more offshore location for the company as well as added a few additional technical domains, such as DevOps, product lifecycle services, etc.

One of the reasons why we decided to start BOT for our customers is we want to gather critical expertise in our domains. Providing this kind of service expands our reach, potential, and capabilities. This is exactly what as an IT company we hope to achieve,” said Sanjay Sehgal, CEO, MSys.

During the Build stage of the process, MSys gathers client requirements in a knowledge transfer fashion. This may conclude in a few months to a year. During this time, creation of infrastructure and establishment of trust relationships with client’s team as well as the BOT team happen. Subsequently, a core team of engineers is built offshore.

Operate phase of the process lasts for several years. During this phase, expansion of the core team happens. Group leads, project managers, etc., are added to the team as part of this expansion. During this phase, the BOT team is operated offshore under MSys management. HR policy management, controlling on-site and off-site teams, building processes and methodologies, corporate identity maintenance, etc., are done as part of this phase. The phase may continue for several years.

During Transfer, the entire BOT offshore facility will be transferred to the client. The personnel, HR, infrastructure, and IP are transferred in an acceptable legal manner. Transfer of the BOT can create a financial subsidiary for the client in the offshore location. The Transfer phase may complete in a few months’ time or immediately.

We expect to work with many technology companies in the coming days. MSys’s vision is full-fledged technology services for its clients. We already have the expertise and personnel to meet any industry challenge,” said Suresh RK, director of business development, MSys.

Advantages of BOT Business Model

  • It lets customers avoid long-term investments and commitments, while still retaining major benefits of an ODC. This can reduce risks involved.
  • A client can gradually subsume the BOT, thus making the transfer smooth.
  • MSys has nearly a decade of experience in its niches. This can be helpful in gathering high-level local expertise for the BOT team as well as scaling the team faster.
  • Controlling the BOT team can be quite easy for most customers.
  • MSys also provides after-transfer services that can be instrumental in mitigating future risks and technical difficulties.
