This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 21, 2014 at 2:56 pmToshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor and Storage Products Company announced the MD03ACA-V series, high-capacity HDD drives for surveillance applications.
The company’s line of 3.5-inch HDDs are available in capacities up to 4TB. The 6Gb SATA drives spin at 7,200rpm and support the 512B sector lengths with rotational vibration compensation to keep performance under multiple HDD configuration, making the HDD series suited for customers looking for 24/7 video surveillance storage. Mass production shipment in the Japanese market starts from this month.
The design provides storage to various video recorders, including surveillance digital video recorders, surveillance network video recorders and hybrid SDVR, delivering 24/7 operation with a mean time to failure of one million hours. With up to 4TB of storage, it enables support for higher resolution data streams, addresses the need for longer surveillance video retention periods, multi-streaming capabilities, wider temperature resistance and uninterrupted write applications.
