IBM HPC Cluster Portfolio Enhanced
With products from DDN and Mellanox
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 16, 2014 at 2:43 pmIBM Intelligent Cluster solutions deliver high performance with energy and space efficiencies.
These solutions can help simplify and expedite deployment of a Linux or Windows HPC cluster.
IBM combines all hardware, software, services, and support into a single integrated product offering, providing the benefit of a single point of contact for the entire cluster and virtually eliminating the need to deal with multiple vendors for individual components.
The cluster is a choice for organization that recognizes the economic advantages of a reduced time to deployment of an HPC cluster, but has concerns about the time and technical resources required for the end-to-end implementation.
New offerings for Intelligent Cluster portfolio:
- Mellanox SX6036G FDR14 IB/40GbE Gateway (0724-031,032): It is a 36-port nonblocking, high-performance, low-latency 56Gb FDR IB to 40GbE gateway.It is fixed with 24 IB ports and 12 Ethernet ports.
- DataDirect Networks (DDN) SFA7700 Hybrid Flash Appliance (0750-028,HCK): It is a hybrid flash storage appliance, purpose-built for big data requirements that enable organizations to resolve key storage challenges. The optimized SFA OS is at its core, running in two hybrid controllers that leverage Storage Fusion Xcelerator (SFX) technology to extract the maximum performance and value from hybrid (spinning disk and flash) media.
Key prerequisites: Device drivers, as required.
Planned availability date: June 6, 2014
