Ebrahim Abbasi SVP Operations, Violin Memory

Former Force10 and Redback Networks COO

Violin Memory, Inc. announced the appointment of Ebrahim Abbasi as SVP of operations.

Abbasi, Violin Memory He will report to Kevin DeNuccio, president and CEO.

As a veteran of Silicon Valley with a track record in high growth companies as well as multiple turnaround success stories, he brings more than 25 years of executive experience to his new role. His responsibilities will encompass all areas of operational excellence from gross margins to profitability.

Ebrahim brings to Violin a wealth of experience in leading and transforming the operational models of some of the most well-known networking companies in the Silicon Valley,” said Kevin DeNuccio, president and CEO, Violin. “Ebrahim is one of the best senior operations leaders I’ve had the opportunity to work with in my career.”

The addition of Abbasi to its management team enables Violin to continue to enhance its engineering and operations organizational strategy and operating model, while delivering solutions that solve critical enterprise storage needs to provide application acceleration, storage efficiency, and storage and workload performance.

Most recently, Abbasi served as president for Roamware (now Mobileum) where he was responsible for restructuring and refocusing the company on a growth path. Prior to Roamware he held the position of president and COO at Force10 Networks Inc. where he transformed the company into a cloud computing powerhouse and led its acquisition by Dell in 2011.

Before joining Force10, he held the position of SVP and COO/CIO for Redback Networks, Inc. where he contributed to the turnaround of the company’s corporate operations functions that transformed the company into a leader, with the company later being acquired by Ericsson. He was also a member of the executive team that grew Ascend Communications into an acquisition target by Lucent Technologies before his role at Redback Networks.

Abbasi holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran.
