Green Cloud and Tintri Developed Cloud-based Replication Solution

Replicates individual VM to the cloud, integrates de-dupe and compression.

Green Cloud Technologies LLC, a channel-only cloud solutions provider, and Tintri, Inc. have jointly developed a cloud-based replication service for new and existing customers.

A component of this service is ReplicateVM, a per-VM array-side data replication. With this offering, customers will be able to replicate VMs from their existing storage system to Green Cloud’s virtualized data centers.

The application-aware storage for virtualized environments and cloud eliminates the cost and complexity associated with traditional storage systems. With granularity at an individual VM-level, only the required data is replicated. Data protection policies can be set on a per-VM basis, and individual VMs can be protected or restored with just a few mouse clicks. Its inline de-dupe and compression also applies to all data being replicated, reducing WAN bandwidth consumption and improving overall performance.

The replication service enables customers to replicate individual VMs to a cloud, streamlining VM availability for data protection, development testing, business intelligence reporting and other use cases.

We could not be happier with the performance of the Tintri VMstore systems,” said Keith Coker, CTO, Green Cloud Technologies. “We chose Tintri after stress-testing numerous storage products from different vendors. The Tintri system outperformed everything. Since we deployed Tintri in multiple data centers, it has delivered exceptional performance and efficiencies for demanding applications in environments that are 100% virtualized. We are excited to offer this new service to our joint customers.

Companies interested in this offering can select specific service levels with as much needed memory and compute resources activated within four to 24 hours.

Many of customers are already applying Tintri ReplicateVM for data protection across multiple systems and locations,” said Tom Ellery, SVP of WW sales, Tintri. “By introducing the jointly developed solution with Green Cloud, we are able to extend the same capabilities to customers with single systems or prefer to replicate their data to the cloud
