Nidec Corp. reported financial results for third quarter and nine month ended December 31, 2013.

Here are only the figures for its activity in spindle motors for HDDs.

Net sales, for the nine-month period increased ¥13,713 million, or 10.9%, compared to the same period of the prior year, although the number of units sold of spindle motors for HDDs decreased approximately 7% compared to the same period of the prior year.

In addition, sales at SCD Co., Ltd., which became a consolidated subsidiary in the six months ended March 31, 2013, contributed to the increase in net sales of these spindle motors.

In 3Q13 compared to 2Q13, revenue of spindle motors for HDDs increased ¥997 million or 2.2%, compared. The number of units sold increased approximately 2% sequentially.
