PernixData Supports vSphere 5.5 and Web Client
On flash hypervisor software
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 10, 2014 at 2:47 pmPernixData, Inc., in virtualizing server flash, announced support for VMware vSphere 5.5 and vSphere Web Client in the new company’s FVP software.
With these developments, customers have confidence that their Flash Hypervisor software can be deployed in all modern vSphere environments, using the standard vSphere management tools and procedures.
“PernixData has a rich pedigree in virtualization, resulting in a robust product that is more tightly integrated with vSphere than other third party software solutions,” said Bala Narasimhan, director of product management, PernixData. “This not only differentiates us from an ease of integration and operations standpoint, but it ensures that FVP delivers the best performance for all virtualized applications at the lowest possible cost.”
PernixData’s knowledge of VMware and commitment to customers using vSphere
is evident in the following FVP features:
- vSphere support. FVP supports all versions of VMware 5.1.x and greater. As customers upgrade their VMware virtual infrastructure, they can be assured that the FVP solution will continue to eliminate storage bottlenecks for optimal application performance.
- Seamless management via vSphere Web Client. All FVP operations are managed seamlessly from within vSphere, such as configuring flash clusters and monitoring application and storage performance. With support for vSphere web client, these tasks are handled using any web browser – no separate client software is required. With FVP, the user experience is identical to that experienced natively with vSphere.
- Seamless deployment: FVP software is deployed inside the vSphere hypervisor in under 20 minutes, with no changes (or reboots) required to VMs, servers or primary storage.
- Clustered platform compatible with all VMware operations. FVP uses patent-pending Flash Cluster technology to enable any host to remotely access the flash device(s) on any other host in the cluster. This technology enables PFVP to seamlessly support all VMware operations and products, such as vMotion, DRS, HA, Snapshot, VDP, Site Recovery Manager, Horizon View and vCloud Director.
“It is great to see PernixData grow their world class product in lock step with VMware and their latest vSphere features,” said Pete Koehler, IT manager, Tecplot, Inc. “This gives us great confidence that this game changing solution will continue to evolve with our virtualization infrastructure and keep pace with our most stringent storage performance needs.”
“We are thrilled when companies create products that are easy to install and deploy with minimal or no disruption to existing and future VMware environments,” said Eric Kaplan, CTO, Ahead LLC. “PernixData’s commitment to VMware and knowledge of vSphere is unprecedented and results in an enterprise solution that delivers a tremendous amount of value back to our clients.“
