Interscape Technologies Integrating IBM XIV Arrays
In Perfonics tool and performance as a service offering
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 31, 2014 at 2:59 pmInterscape Technologies, Inc. announces it extends its Perfonics service offerings to IBM XIV storage.
Perfonics Storage Services provides storage optimization, performance analysis, capacity planning, consolidation modeling and migration planning services on several storage hardware platforms.
The Interscape Technologies’ 3T based delivery model will be available for XIV as well. Interscape’s experience in working with multi-vendor large multi-petabyte storage infrastructure can be leveraged to provide a similar level of performance & capacity based services on XIV platforms at a fraction of the cost of having onsite resources on a full time basis.
With XIV storage array integration, Perfonics can report on storage configuration, capacity metrics and performance metrics. Various components for XIV can be reported such has hardware, disk, pool and volume configurations, capacity utilizations and performance reporting. It can be leveraged for storage optimization and migration projects to provide analytics around right-tiering and right-sizing based on current I/O profiles. Either the source or the target can be an XIV array depending on the project requirements.
“We are very excited to extend our Perfonics based Storage Optimization, Performance, Capacity Planning, Consolidation Modelling and Migration Planning services to IBM XIV storage arrays,” said Alok Jain, founder and CEO, Interscape. “Our storage services are faster as they can be delivered in less than half time, they are much better as it reduces capex & opex and they cost less than 50% of the traditional methods“.
Performance As a Service approach is implemented using the Interscape methodology based on a tool called Perfonics. This methodology provides a hands-off model; there is no software, agents or appliance needed to be installed and no additional specialized skill-sets are needed by customer. Customers simply provides the OEM tools data already collected in their environment or run well-known native storage & server commands/scripts. Once the collected data is uploaded on to secured Interscape cloud, analytic reports are generated and provided via reporting dash board. Customers can take advantage of the expert inclusive services to get a understanding of the issues that will help them decide on the corrective actions.
