GreenBytes Certified as Dell Technology Partner
IO Offload Engine runs on PowerEdge servers.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 24, 2014 at 2:52 pmGreenBytes, Inc., a developer of desktop virtualization storage optimization software, has become a certified technology partner in Dell’s Technology Partner Program.
As part of the program, GreenBytes has certified its IO Offload Engine, a software-defined storage appliance, to run on Dell PowerEdge servers. GreenBytes has also certified its vIO virtual storage appliance (VSA) with the PowerEdge VRTX to give customers access to an all-in-one VDI solution that scales from tens to hundreds of users in a single appliance.
Aimed at enterprise customers and service providers, GreenBytes’ IO Offload Engine has been certified with PowerEdge servers to compliment a new or existing virtual desktop solution set by delivering a performance storage component for capacity and low cost persistent desktops. The IO Offload Engine enables persistent virtual desktops at the cost of less functional, non-persistent desktops without changing the existing compute infrastructure because the appliance appears simply as a storage target. The IO Offload Engine on Dell can scale from a single department to cloud with the same approach and architecture, with less risk and complexity.
By certifying GreenBytes’ vIO virtual storage appliance with the PowerEdge VRTX, customers can deliver the persistent virtual desktops that users want, with the manageability, scalability and affordability that make it possible. Utilizing GreenBytes’ technology, the certified solution is able to deliver performance and ROI for desktop virtualization initiatives. vIO empowers IT administrators to increase the performance and improve the end user experience of the VDI by integrating GreenBytes’ patented zero latency inline deduplication software and local SSD on the PowerEdge VRTX running VMware ESXi.
“GreenBytes is pleased to join the Dell Technology Partner Program to deliver a compelling storage optimization offering for the growing virtual desktop market,” said Dan Beauregard, senior director strategic alliances, GreenBytes. “By combining GreenBytes’ award-winning desktop virtualization storage optimization software with Dell’s industry-leading hardware offerings, we can deliver a virtual desktop solution that is cost effective and high performing to customers.“
