Toshiba Adds Two Symbio Blu-ray Players and Streaming Media Boxes
Enhanced user interface and Smart TV Alliance compatibility

The BDX5500 and BDX3500 both include an enhanced user interface and Smart TV Alliance compatibility. The newest entry in Toshiba’s Audio for Video lineup is the new ABX3250 Audio Base with included wireless sub-woofer so there is no need to compromise style or sound quality.

Our new Audio Base maintains 300 watts with a wireless sub-woofer providing a no-compromise solution for those placing their TV on a table.“
Symbio Media Box and Universal Disc Players
They are a Blu-ray Disc player, DVD player, CD player and streaming media box all in one. The new ePortal utilizes a one-page version of the new Smart TV with cloud Portal GUI, which equates to elegant design simplicity and advanced control. For 2014, Smart TV Alliance App capability has also been added to ensure ongoing App library expansion.
The BDX5500 incorporates the UDE 4K Upscaling Engine and is Technicolor 4K Certified. UDE Ultra Detail Enhancement provides two-stage picture quality enhancement. Stage one provides superior 1080P video with both edge and texture enhancement so it improves picture quality for any Full HD or 4K TV. Stage two adds high quality 4K Upscaling for use with Ultra HD TVs. The BDX5500 also supports 3D playback, has touch controls and is slot loading so it can be placed vertically.
The BDX3500 offers Symbio streaming media and universal disc player content capability in 2D with built-in Wi-Fi and Miracast for peer-to-peer wireless capability.
Both new Symbio models come in a compact, square media box design and are shipping in late Q1.
Audio for Video Products
Toshiba’s new ABX3250 Audio Base acts as an audio complement for 32-, 40- and 50-inch TVs placed on a table. This 300-watt system includes a wireless sub-woofer, Bluetooth wireless audio, HDMI switching and DTS Studio Sound for a more impactful home theater experience in a modern space saving table-top design.
Toshiba also offers the SBX4250 and SBX5065 Sound Bars. Both models produce 300 watts, include a wireless sub-woofer, Bluetooth wireless audio, HDMI switching and SRS Surround. The SBX5065 Sound Strip features NFC for one-touch Bluetooth connection and a wider design with gun metallic strip targeting 50- to 65-inch TVs. The SBX4250 Sound Bar is all black and targets 40-to 50-inch TVs.
New Audio Base is scheduled to begin shipping in Q2 2014.
